July. Another birthday in my house. My oldest girl turned 19! Wow – time has flown. My boy ran in the inaugural Prince of the Mountain race which was held on the same weekend as King of the Mountain. I was so happy to see all the kids give it their best shot – it was such a fun atmosphere with all the kids that ran the race being encouraged right till the end.
Here are some moments that made me happy in July 🙂

Had a bunch of kids have an unexpected sleepover at my house. Happy that I had kale in the garden to make kale chips to go with dinner…and happy that the kids liked them!

My girls will often come into the office after school and give me flower surprises. This was one bunch I received this month.

I haven’t had any pepino fruit yet but have had loads of these pretty flowers…

An afternoon spent making sauerkraut is always a happy one.

Visiting the Trees on Mary St Festival – a great community event and one night where trees do grow pom-poms 🙂

The flowers that the kids gave me finally blooming – so pretty.

Green tomatoes turning red….I thought that I would be making fried green tomatoes but to my surprise they started turning red.

Afternoon tea at my neighbours cafe, The Blue and White Teapot …if you are ever in Amamoor, pop in for a cuppa and cake. Many a happy afternoon is spent here.

Winter in Queensland – I do love warm weather so a balmy afternoon like this one was appreciated.

Having a Canadian friend introduce me to s’mores. They are wrapped in the foil, I didn’t take a picture of them because they were eaten before I even thought of it! S’mores are a biscuit sandwich with chocolate and marshmallow squished inside. They are heated so it is a gooey sweet mess!

Finding this whimsical garden tucked away behind a cafe on a country road trip.

Spending a weekend near one of my favourite places, Natural Bridge. The beauty of this place always makes me go wow.

What a joy today when your email arrived, I have had breast cancer surgery at the end of July and a little unfortunate outcome with another trip back to hospital, Those photos made my heart sing, You are lucky with tomatoes in July, however I will stay with my cold frosty winters , unfortunately I have to endure the long hot summer, never mind I had the most lovely luch with dear friends before surgery, we wandered in the garden, gave away cuttings as we wandered for a new garden and found my “Freckles” clematis all out up, through the May bush, onto the archway, and then all through the paper bark, Oh how very delicate and sweet were those bunches of shy little flowers, Photos on my phone so sorry have to work out how to upload. Never mind the joy was amazing, Thank you for your wonderful news Kindest regards Rosalie Merriwa NSW
Hi Rosalie
Those clematis sound delightful – how gorgeous to have them happily rambling through the garden 🙂
Take care
