December was a month of celebrations in our house. Two birthdays, year 6 graduation, end of year concert, community street party plus Christmas and New Year’s Eve. I’m also happy that I have seen this project through. My goal at the start of the year was to see if I could document some of my happy moments on a monthly basis. I decided to do this to remind myself that it is a collection of small happy moments that makes life fun and to also inspire you to see your own life’s happy moments.
Here are some of my December happy moments 🙂

This was a bittersweet moment. The other half of Gardenware, Esther had her last day in the office. She had been at Gardenware for four years. She arrived with three gorgeous bunches of flowers for me – sad to see Esther go but happy to see her starting a new exciting life adventure.

My boy will be starting high school! His class had a graduation dinner at a local hotel. Being a small country school, there were seven of them graduating. Most of these kids have been together since Prep and it felt like a family celebration.

I used to live by the ocean – not any more. Always is a happy time when I get the chance to spend a weekend by the ocean. The early morning coast walks are a fantastic way to start the day.

Carrots from the kid’s school veggie garden. There was a carrot growing competition between the classes,. Categories were: most biggest, most longest and most ugliest. Each kids got to take a bag of carrots home to munch on – yum-yum.

Heart shaped pizza for lunch! My girl and I made the pizza dough and I couldn’t quite roll it out like a circle – more like a heart. We decided to bake it like this. Happiness is home made delicious pizza.

Candy stripe petunias. I haven’t seen these for a while – such cheerful little flowers.

My littlest one planted dwarf sunflower seeds in the patch. Her excitement when they bloomed was happy moment for me – especially because she had sown the seeds too closely together and forgot to water them a few times…wasn’t sure if they were going to make it!

Gentle Rain….hearing rain on our roof, smelling that freshness, feeling raindrops on our skin, seeing the land perk right up …December brought rain and for that we were all very happy.
How about you? What made you happy in December – Please feel free to share in the comments below.
And thanks for following me on this journey throughout the year – your comments have been appreciated…I’m not too sure if I will continue publicly posting monthly. This project has made a difference to my outlook on life that I’m sure I will be continuing it in some form whether at a personal or public level.
What a wonderful journey and lovely to share with you, my little youngest grand-daughter who was 12 weeks premmie turned 4 yesterday, I picked the lovliest little posy of purple Geisha girl which is out lovely now, some dark purple buddlia and then all the little rosebuds I could find, some Pierre de Ronsard and some Toowomba special ones little apricot & white. and one little dianthus so I could tell her , my mummy told me the fairies painted these flowers. She liked that as I had given her a Fairy garden with the little tree trunk house, and fairies riding frogs and snails, and fairys sitting on flowers and leaves. so cute, and most of all Isla is well and perfect. We are so lucky , Finished the day with Cupcakes, fairy glitter and little roses. What a special day. I love takeing a bunch of flowers wherever I go, Part of fun is wandering in the garden for the special flower. xoR
Rosalie, that sounds wonderful – what a magical birthday for your grand-daughter 🙂
It has been inspiring to read your reflections on happy moments. They have encouraged me to look out for and document the little things in life that make me smile. Thank you!
